Overview

Netherite is a powerful new material that was added in the 1.16 Nether Update. It is stronger than diamond and has a higher blast resistance. Netherite can also be found in the Nether, and is used to create strong tools and armor. In this guide, we’ll show you how to find and mine Netherite in Minecraft Education Edition.

What is Netherite?

Netherite is a stronger, more durable material that was added in the 1.16 update. Netherite is made from getting ancient debris from the bottom of the nether, then smelting it in a furnace with gold. The resulting ingot is Netherite. Netherite can be used to create armor, tools, and weapons that are more powerful and durable than those made from diamond. Netherite armor also has a higher enchantment value than diamond armor.

Where to find Netherite

Netherite is a rare material that can be found in the Nether. To find Netherite, you will need to go into the Nether and look for Ancient Debris. This can be found in the lower parts of the Nether, and is most commonly found around Y-level 15. Once you have found some Ancient Debris, you will need to mine it with a pickaxe that has been enchanted with Smiting.

Getting Netherite

Netherite is a new item that was added in the 1.16 Nether Update. It is a mineral that is found in the Nether and can be used to make better weapons and armor than diamond. Netherite items are also more resistant to fire and lava than diamond.

Scavenging

Netherite is a rare material from the Nether, and is one of the best materials in the game. Here’s how to get started with Netherite.

Netherite scraps are falling item entities that were announced in snapshot 20w14a for the Nether Update. They are obtained by killing Hoglins, hostile mobs that live in the crimson forests of the Nether. After killing a hoglin, there is a 8.5% chance for it to drop 0-2 netherite scraps and a 1.625% chance for it to drop an additional raw porkchop (up to 4 with Looting III).

When YOU mining gold ore in the Nether you have a 2.5 percent chance to receive one gold nugget from each block mined instead of gold ore. As of snapshot 20w17a, nether gold ore drops 2-4 netherite scrap when mined with any pickaxe.

Trading

To get Netherite you’ll have to find a minecraft villager that is willing to trade with you. As of 1.16, the librarian, nitwit, and wandering traders have a small chance of spawning with a chest that contains Netherite Scrap. When combined with 4 gold ingots, you’ll have yourself a piece of Netherite!

Finding Netherite Ore

Netherite ore is a dark grey ore found only in the Nether. Netherite ore spawns between Y= 8-22, more commonly between Y= 11-16. When mined with a diamond pickaxe or netherite pickaxe, it drops one netherite scrap. If mined with any other tool, the ore doesn’t drop anything.

Using Netherite

Netherite is a rare mineral that is only found in the Nether. It is the strongest and most durable material in Minecraft. Netherite items will not burn in lava and have a higher enchantment value than diamond items. Netherite can be used to create armor, tools, and weapons that are better than diamond.

Armor

Netherite armor has a higher durability than diamond armor and a higher enchantability than iron armor. Netherite armor also has a knockback resistance of 8%.

Netherite armor is created by combining one diamond piece with four obsidian blocks in a furnace. The resulting ingot can then be crafted into a full set of Netherite armor.

Weapons

Netherite weapons have a slightly higher damage than diamond weapons. Netherite swords have a base damage of 8 (instead of 7), and an attack speed of 2.4 (same as diamond). As such, a netherite sword will deal 9 more damage per second than a diamond sword. Netherite axes have the same base damage as diamonds (6), but a higher attack speed of 1.75 (compared to 1.6 for diamond). This results in an extra 0.8 damage dealt per second. Netherite Trident has a base damage of 11 (1 higher than Diamond Trident).

Tools

Netherite tools are more durable and have a higher attack damage than diamond. Netherite items also have a knockback resistance of 2, as well as the following enchantments:

Mending – Repairs the tool with experience orbs when an anvil is used.

Curse of Vanishing – The item will disappear instead of dropping when it breaks.

Unbreaking – Increased durability.
